Belso Lake

28 hectares. The lake is located in a beautiful location in Tihany Hills looking over Lake Balaton. It can be found by turning off public road number 71.

Stock of fish: carp, all sorts of white fish, pikeperch, pike, eel and aspe. It can be fished from mid-April to mid-October. Licence on the bank as well as boat rental.  Angling shop on site also a snack bar that sells hot food and refreshments.

Accommodation (motel, hotel, and private houses) is available in the village or in the summer resort on the shore of the lake. It is one of the largest touristically important places near Lake Balaton, its well-known monuments are the Abbey church and the museum. From the ferry port at the bottom of the hill you can catch a ferry to the town of Szantod.

Nagybirkas Lake

The Angling Association "varpalotai Banyasz Horgasz Egyesfllet' run the fishing at this lake.

The lake is situated about 3 kilometres from from the southern outskirts of Varpalota, reach it by road on the public road number 8, heading towards the town of Osi.

The lake is 38.8 hectares. The lake is known for its very large carp and grass carp, but you can also find bream all sorts of whitefish, crucian, pikeperch, pike, tench and perch.

In 1999 the biggest carp of the year, one of 25.08 kg, was caught in this lake.

Single-day tickets can be bought in an angling shop 500 meters from the lake.

A notice board on the shore of the lake is to inform anglers about local regulations on fishing.
