Tisza river

Here is an overview about the Tisza river, the second largest river of Hungary. This Tisza is split into many areas divisions as there are two dams on its course: one at Tiszaldk and the other one in Kiskore. The latter one keeps the area between the flood prevention dams under water from early spring to late autumn. This area occupies nearly 6000 hectares.

Its stock of fish is just as varied as that of the Danube.

Here is a  list the people who owns the fishing rights on a particular stretch of the river. This information is given partly because of the regional borders, partly because they provide information on obtaining permission. As on other rivers in Hungary, on the Tisza fishing is allowed according to national regulations. In certain backwaters however; there can be modifications to these rules, please check before fishing to avoid potential problems.

Regional permission are issued by the owners of the fishing rights of each stretch of river. Tickets can be obtained in anglers' shops in villages along each particular stretch of river.
