		Bruce and Walker ‘Hexagraph’, carp rods. 12’ 6” / 2 1/2 LB TC. The first time I picked up one of these rods I immediately thought..... quality. You can tell, just by handling one of these beauties, that time, effort and expertise; has gone into the making of it. Now, I know what your thinking. “Two and a half pound test.....”, believe me, these rods have more than enough power to deal with even the largest of carp. The amount of ‘Backbone’ available to you must be felt; to be believed. Bruce & Walker say they have a.... “give through action”. When you hook a good fish, you can really “lay it on thick” if you need too. Excellent were a “hit ‘em and hold ‘em” approach is needed. But not only that. These rods are also quite capable of sending a large bait to the distant horizon. Hooking fish at long range is also made far easier, due to the rods length and versatile action. In essence, these rods combine both power and flexibility, to give the casting range of a fast taper rod, and the casting accuracy and fish playing properties of a compound taper rod. “What is a ‘Hexagraph’ carp rod?”, I hear you ask. Well, Hexagraph rods are made in the same way as ‘Split cane’ rods were made years ago. Except the clever chaps at Bruce & Walker, decided to use high modulus carbon instead of cane. They are totally hand built at there production facility at Huntingdon in the county of Cambridgeshire, U.K. They first produced prototypes of the Hexagraph, in the spring of 1985. After extensive field testing the first production models were available to the public in the fall of 1986. Since then, Bruce & Walker have received only praise from the anglers fortunate enough to own a set of Hexagraph carp rods. To conclude. These rods will make redundant; the ones you own at the moment. Still, you can always use your old ones to beat down the nettles with!
